Andrew Pierce from Sierra Mountain Rescue joined us to teach us the ropes – literally! How to tie knots, how to build a shelter in the wild, and how to carry out an injured companion were some of the valuable skills Andrew taught us. And he shared stories of his winter work as a professional ski patroller in the Tahoe mountains controlling avalanches, rescuing and treating injured guests.
