Meet new friends, learn about local wildlife, and discover nature.

When you attend a Summit, the best part is that everyone gets to choose what they want to do, with programming for kids by age level and adult adventures for you. Adults get to choose from a wide selection of activities from our specially designed handbook for each Summit. Do you prefer adrenaline activities like big hikes or kayaking a winding river? Or would you rather be chilling out on a pontoon boat or plein air painting a sunset? Or maybe you want to learn about the local ecosystem from a world class biologist, lepidopterist or paleontologist. We have it all!

How Our Adult Program Works

Family Nature Summits are wonderful multigenerational vacations that instill the love of nature and the environment in all who participate. I speak as a mother who brought her children and now attends with them and their children.

You get to choose your own program from our extensive list of options – adventure, laid back or educational – we have something for everybody!

Your day can start early at 6:30  AM with birding, yoga or sunrise photography and end as late as 11:00 PM with star gazing and entertaining programs. In between, we have activities for every interest and fitness level. You can choose to participate in as many or as few activities as you wish.

While your kids enjoy their daytime programs, you can hike, bird, kayak, go on a field trip or sail an open lake. Each summit has activities tailored to the location and wide range of attendees. We have a team of outstanding Summit faculty, including local experts to bring you exceptional experiences you won’t find anywhere else. We find the best activities in the area and take care of all the logistics. At lunch, you may meet back up with your family or eat a specially prepared sack lunch at an all-day activity.  Our child care staff is available all day to see that your kids get their lunches or to watch them after their programs end if you are still out having fun.

Our afternoon and evening programs are designed to be enjoyed by all ages.

Two months before the Summit, we will send you a handbook of all of the activities, so you can plan your days at the Summit. You will get a chance to review the activities and plan your daily schedule well in advance. Using our online registration system, you will sign up for your specific activities, but do it fast, because the most popular programs fill up quickly! We will also provide you with packing lists and forms so you can be ready for your Family Nature Summit. Once at the Summit, you will still have the option to add/drop activities to suit your needs.
